It's been a good time at tea. A little bit of pastries, a few other things, and she was good to go. She'd had a business meeting, admittedly. Her client wanted to know how to get the drop on his latest lobbyist move and SHE needed to get to an appointment with her doctor, so she needed to get a move on. Rescheduling, she steps out. A burly man, in a long black coat falls into step a few yards behind her as she begins to make her way down the sidewalk while dialing on some ridiculously expensive phone.

Out of the alley, always out of some alley, a couple of greasy men step out in front of the woman, blocking her path. From behind the pair, two more step up from the parking lot of the convenience store. The woman and her burly boyfriend are effectively surrounded. A sinister chuckle comes out of one of the ones in front along with the slap of pipe on palm. Apparently this isn't a friendly stop on the route of life.

Lacey pulls to a sharp stop and skitters back away from the greasy men. The bodyguard who follows her? He seems fairly at ease as he pushes back his coat, showing the gleam of shiny handgun from a waist holster. The man speaks,"We really need to do this fellas?"
There is a shadow that flits across the roofline then it settles just behind the two at the back.

Apparently the gun doesn't seem to phase the gentlemen in front of the pair. It might have something to do with the series of clicks behind them, indicating a couple of firearms of their own. "I think we do, there Sparky. Now get the lovely lady to hand over the cash and jewelry and we'll be on our way. Capiche?"

Lacey blanches a little bit, but begins to comply with the cash and jewelry pretty readily while her bodyguard grumbles,"They're not what I hired you to protect me from, Guy." Yeah. The guys name is 'guy'. "Besides… I'll have it all replaced tomorrow." She's rich, carrying hardly any cash by her own standards, and indeed can easily replace the expensive jewelry. It'll take her all of five minutes to cancel her cards. But she doesn hand over the joker with the little silver bell. Indeed, she covers it with her hands as if she might be allowed to keep it. And THIS in particular has her bodyguard looking uncomfortable.

"Yeah, this ain't what she hired you for Sparky. Just takes it easy over there and let the woman make the deals." The spokesman for the greasy ruffian commands. His voice is raspy from smoking or some kind of cold and he ends his statement with a hacking cough. As she tries to avoid giving up all the jewelry the pipe is brandished and the man narrows his eyes. "All of it Lady."

It is lucky that the burly bodyguard is so large, because he blocks the sight of the shadow dropping from the roof as it comes to a soft and very silent landing behind the group.

Lacey doesn't speak as the pipe is brandished, and she clutches at the choker. She merely shakes her head. Meanwhile, Guy's hand twitches reflexively. He does not, however, reach for his sidearm, yet. But he shoots a menacing look at the pipe wielder's hand,"Listen man, you got, like, thirty grand in jewels and cash and shit right there. That thing's the least expensive piece she's wearing. You can do without it."

"I said ALL of it!" The greasy man roars, just as there's a large clang and a couple of fwumps from behind all four of them. Should the woman and her bodyguard turn around, they would see the two gun wielders crumpling to the ground in a heap and a young Asian girl with a pipe glaring past them.

The reason she picked THIS man for a bodyguard should become evident very momentarily: He's a fast-draw specialist. His gun almost seems to jump into his hand as he fires at the midsection of the man with the pipe, while Lacey, in a well-rehearsed action, covers her ears and drops to the ground to get out of the way. Does the bodyguard look? Not until after he's fired, and whirling about for more targets.

The young Asian is staring at the barrel pointed at her nose with the widest eyes anyone has ever seen on her. Then she drops her own pipe and raises her hands high above her head. "Please! Please do not shoot, I was merely attempting to assist you!" Her voice sounds a little panicked, but anyone's would be when faced with such a scene. It's surprising that she didn't hit a brown note, or something like that. "I was only trying to help!"

With one man bleeding from a gut-wound, one can only assume any remaining that are still standing would probably flee. The man slowly releases his itchy triggerfinger's grip on the handgun. Then he slowly reholsters it. "You really got some… uh… timing, there, kid." Lacey is still on the ground, trembling, while she waits for the all clear."

With the gun reholstered the girl slowly puts lowers her hands to her sides. "Thank you sir, I was on the roof when I saw the men coming out of the alley. They are not good men." She explains, rather needlessly, because by now that last bit is rather obvious. She glances to the woman on the ground and steps toward the pair, offering a gloved hand to her. "Are you alright Miss? You are not hurt?"

Lacey has her hand to her throat, but doesn't look up until the man snaps out with: "All clear!" Then she takes the gloved hand, and rises, while the man looks around,"Well, crap… I'm gonna have to make a statement for discharging my sidearm. What'd you do to them?"

"I used the pipe." Jubilation says simply, pointing to the one that she had dropped on the ground. That should have been obvious as well, just from the sound, but they were in a stressful situation, they probably weren't listening. "Would you like me to walk you somewhere? I am very capable for protection." She's regarding the pair with her dark brown eyes, they'll probably say no, but her conscience wouldn't allow her to just leave. It's not proper.
